The concept of the project is to establish at the Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences, a technologically advanced national center named CEPHARES – The Center for Development of New Pharmacotherapies of the Central Nervous System Disorders, where interdisciplinary studies in the area of neuropsychpharmacology will be performed to develop novel drug candidates efficient in treating CNS disorders.

INFRASTRUCTURE
CEPHARES is a complex of new laboratories and specialist research units housing highly advanced equipment, which will constitute the technological and research infrastructure for 5modules of the Center: bioinformatics (CF1), drug chemistry (CF2), bioanalysis (CF3), mechanisms of CNS drug action (CF4) and in vivo behavioral models (CF5), and operating within the CF6 module the reference center of Leica , the world leader in micro- and nanoimaging.

INFORMATION CENTER
The Science Information Center (module CF6) located in the historic Fisher-Benis Palace in Kraków will be responsible for digitalization of study results, promotion of research carried out at CEPHARES and popularization of new knowledge and specialized training.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PLATFORM
The Entrepreneurship Platform will provide laboratory facilities for spin-off companies and external research groups wishing to carry out their own innovative projects.
The support offered by the Platform to academic entrepreneurship (startups) and active promotion of innovative technological solutions will help to build relations between science and business.
